Is this what its all come to?

A day of remembrance and celebration being marred by violence, innocent people getting injured and killings?

Violence is something I feel very strongly about, no need for it as far as I’m concerned. But it ain’t gonna stop there anymore, when there’s the next religious festival - for any religion - the same is going to happen there in retaliation.

A religious day of remembrance and celebration just ain’t that anymore, these religious days are losing their meaning, what are you gonna pass down to your kids about what Vaisakhi is? Is this what Sikhism is about??? For one day, keep the beef to one side <_< surely that ain’t asking too much?

I seriously think the youth of today seriously need to step back and think WHY Vaisakhi is celebrated in the first place and why are they marring such a joyous day with violence…there’s just no need for it and nothing can justify such pathetic and immature behaviour.

^ I hope that wasnt a joke. lol :oh

Response to Reena:

It when the elder generations of all "partys" stop fueling the fire which is unneccesary in this modern day of age, and when youth take out the hate and start acting in a civilised way, then we shall see an improvement in the tension that is decades old. Without this, then nuthing will happen.

Exactly, the extreimists of india whether muslim, sikh or hindu are riled on by the politicians/elders and then they go out and commit atrocities. Bribery also plays a role.

this is more a continuaton of the dakhu, or bad manz dem, ideology...but vaisakhi has also lost a lot of its meaning within the community, the political situation in india means farmers are debt ridden and the spirit, the vibrancy is no longer there as a result of that. the rationalization of the harvest has affected the religious significance that was placed onto it back in the day.

People argue to feel dominant!

Not realising war only brings loneliness!

There is nothing pleasant about war!

The only truth about war is people die!
