Karma (Sanskrit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanskrit) kárman (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/karman) "act, action, performance"[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karma#_note-0); Pāli (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%C4%81li) kamma) is the concept of "action" or "deed" in Dharmic religions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dharmic_religions), understood as a term to denote the entire cycle of cause and effect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cause_and_effect) as described in the philosophies of Hinduism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinduism) and Buddhism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhism).

Karma is a sum of all that an individual has done, is currently doing and will do. The results or "fruits" of actions are called karma-phala. Karma is not about retribution, vengeance, punishment or reward. Karma simply deals with what is. The effects of all deeds actively create past, present and future experiences, thus making one responsible for one's own life, and the pain and joy it brings to others. In religions that incorporate reincarnation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reincarnation), karma extends through one's present life and all past and future lives as well.

Reincarnation, literally "to be made flesh again", as a doctrine or mystical (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mysticism) belief holds the notion that some essential part of a living being (or in some variations, only human beings (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_being)) survives death (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death) in some form, with its integrity partly or wholly retained, to be reborn in a new body. This part is often referred to as the Spirit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirit) or Soul (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soul), the 'Higher or True Self', 'Divine Spark', 'I' or the 'Ego' (not to be confused with the ego (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ego) as defined by psychology).

In such beliefs, a new personality (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personality) is developed during each life in the physical world (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World), based upon past integrated experience and new acquired experiences, but some part of the being remains constantly present throughout these successive lives as well. It is usually believed that there is interaction between predeterminism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Predeterminism) of certain experiences, or lessons intended to happen during the physical life, and the free-will (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free-will) action of the individual as they live that life.

Karma...I kinda believe the concept of 'what goes around comes around'. Basically...it will come back and bite u in the arse sooner or later ;)

But reincarnation...no. Not in my religion and not personally either. We live once. And we die. What ever happens next no one knows. Only way to find out is....by dying? LOL

Hinduism believes in Karma and reincarnation strongly.

Regression, in psychoanalysis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychoanalysis), is a defense mechanism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_mechanism) leading to the reversion to an earlier stage of development in the face of unacceptable impulses.

An example of this would be when someone fails a test, they throw a temper tantrum or curl up and suck their thumb, reverting back to how they dealt with stress in childhood.

Pyschology thing here.. this what you was mentioning? ?:

Past life regression (PLR) is the alleged journeying into one's past lives while hypnotized (http://skepdic.com/hypnosis.html). While it is true that many patients recall past lives

Some therapists think hypnosis (http://skepdic.com/hypnosis.html) opens a window to the unconscious mind (http://skepdic.com/unconscious.html)where memories of past lives are stored. How memories of past lives get into the unconscious mind of a person is not known, but advocates loosely adhere to a doctrine of reincarnation (http://skepdic.com/reincarn.html)
